Outstanding New Librarian Award

Honors a recent graduate who is making important contributions to his or her employing library and librarianship at large. This award will be granted during a one (1) to three- (3) year period after the receipt of their degree.

Minimum Criteria:

-- Must be an Indiana Library Federation personal member for the year nominated

-- Received their degree no more than three (3) years ago

-- Must be working in a professional capacity

-- Demonstrates a commitment to library in his or her community

-- Has to have made a substantial contribution in areas such as, but
not limited to:
A. Communicates well with library staff, administrators, and the public
B. Initiates special projects
C. Contributes to his or her library’s impact on its community
D. Exceeds the limits of his or her job description

-- Three (3) to five (5) letters of support from a mix of colleagues, the
local library community, and system administration

Additional Supporting Documentation (Optional)

-- No more than three (3) other forms of miscellaneous publications
with explanation, as needed
