Outstanding Trustee Award

Honors a public library board member for constructive accomplish-ments toward developing sound library policies and effective service,
serving as a liaison between the library and the community, and advancing library service on a community, regional, or statewide level.

Minimum Criteria:

-- Must be an Indiana Library Federation Indiana Library Trustee
Association member for the year nominated

-- Must be serving as a current trustee or have served during the year for which the individual is nominated

-- Performed beyond the scope of his or her duties

-- Must have made substantial contribution in areas such as, but not limited to:
A. Sound fiscal management
B. Promotes and participates in local, regional and/or state trustee training sessions
C. Developed cohesiveness (team leader) for his or her board
D. Understands and promotes the goals of the library

-- Develops and maintains good relationships with library staff
members, library administration and the community he or she serves

-- Three (3) to five (5) letters of support from a mix of other board
members, members of their community and system
administration

Additional Supporting Documentation (Optional)

-- No more than three (3) other forms of miscellaneous publications
with explanation, as needed
