Questions and Answers:

Q: What recognition will I receive?
A: Individuals who achieve LINK Recognition will be awarded
lapel pins at the ILF conference. Their local media will receive
press releases about their accomplishments. LINK Recognized
Boards will receive plaques and press releases in their local
media.

Q: How do I receive points for ILTA-sponsored conferences
and programs?
A: After you attend a program, your points are automatically
added. You don't need to submit anything.

Q: How may I receive points for outside service activities and
other related continuing education?
A: Visit the ILF website (www.ilfonline.org) and print a copy
of the LINK Recognition Point Request Form. Answer all the
questions, attach proof of your participation, and send it to
the ILF office before the end of the calendar year.

Q: What kinds of service activities may be eligible for
elective points?
A: Among the options: Making a presentation at an event not
sponsored by ILF or ILTA, writing and publishing an article
in a library publication, or attending a continuing education
program related to boardsmanship sponsored by another
organization. If you have questions, please request guidance
from the ILTA President or Executive Director Linda Kolb
in the ILF office.

Q: If I forgot to request points last year, can I submit them
now?
A: No. Points are totaled just after the end of the year, so
make it a point to submit requests promptly.

Q: Do I have to earn new points each year to keep my
recognition?
A: No, your points are cumulative. We hope that continuing
education will become a habit by the time you receive LINK
Recognition.

Q: When a trustee leaves the library board and returns
through a new appointment, can points be reinstated?
A: No, when a trustee leaves the board, his/her record
is deleted from the database.
