2006 ILF Annual Conference

Indiana Libraries: 21st Century Literacy Partners

A Little Bit of the ILF Conference to Take Home with You

A month or so before the ILF conference, New-Albany Public Library director Stephen Day said he really thought the conference program looked great and it was too bad he couldn’t bring all of his board and staff. Which made us think: Could we find a way to extend the conference learning?

Announcing: ILF Keynote on a DVD!

Now you can share the great conference keynote conversation on “What It Takes to Be Literate in the 21st Century” with your staff and board. Moderated by ILF’s own John Robson, the Wall Street Week style panel includes:

-Dr. Patricia Senn Breivik, author of Higher Education in the Internet Age; Libraries Creating a Strategic Edge (2006) and recently retired Dean of the San Jose State Library where she created a merged library with the San Jose Public Library,
-Barbara Stripling, who oversees 1200 school library media centers as Director of Library Services for the New York City Public Schools and has written and spoken widely about information literacy in the online age, and
-Dr. Virginia Walter, Professor in the Information Studies Department at UCLA and author of Teens and Libraries: Getting It Right (2003) and Children and Libraries: Getting It Right (2001).

The DVD runs approximately 45 minutes. You can play all of it or use just a portion at a brown bag lunch or other staff development session to start a discussion. Handouts from the session are also available on the ILF website: Click here!

Order your DVD today! The price, including shipping and handling is $25. It’s a pretty inexpensive way to bring ILF to your staff and board. Click Here for the order form!
