Do you have a great idea to increase community engagement in your library? Propose it in our first “3x3 contest.” What is a 3x3 (3-by-3)? Three selected finalists will be allowed 3 slides and 3 minutes to make a proposal of an innovative or collaborative project to increase community engagement. Attendees will vote on the spot using their mobile devices (or paper ballots). The winner will be granted funds (up to $1,000) by ILF to implement their strategy by mid-2017.

Why community engagement? Keynote speaker Shanika Heyward will be speaking on community engagement at the IPLA Luncheon at the ILF Annual Conference, 11/09/16. This activity is a way to support a member’s library in community engagement innovations. Note that ALL types of libraries are eligible to participate, as all types of libraries need to be engaging their communities

How to propose a project – Review criteria and then complete and submit the application no later than 10/14/16. Email Tisa for Word version of the application.

Questions?  Contact Lucinda Nord at ILF,, or 317-257-2040, or a member of the Awards and Honors Committee or ILF Board with additional questions.
