Indiana Library Federation members may select one or more special interest division or sections. Divisions sponsor programs at the ILF Annual Conference and district conferences, hold independent conferences and workshops on their topic of interest, and contribute ideas for speakers for the annual conference and more.
Children & Young People
The ILF Children & Young People's Division (CYPD) encourages, develops, and promotes an understanding of the challenge, growth, and change occuring in children's and young people's library services.
The purpose of the Distance Learning Division is to promote and support the delivery of library services for distance and off-campus students and faculty in Indiana institutions, through formal and informal channels such as discussions, programs, and electronic communication, and is consistent with the purpose of the Indiana Library Federation.
Friends of Indiana Libraries
The Friends of Indiana Libraries help fund special events, reading programs, staff development day and other important activities in the lives of Indiana libraries! We will continue to develop the FOIL section on the website.
Instruction and Education
The ILF Instruction and Education (IE) is for those interested in promoting bibliographic instruction in Indiana.
Interlibrary Loan and Circulation Division
The ILF Interlibrary Loan and Circulation Division (ICD) provides a forum for the gathering and sharing of information about current trends, best practices, and legal issues in key areas of Interlibrary Loan and Circulation applicable to all types and sizes of libraries in Indiana.
Library Information & Technology
The ILF Library Information & Technology Division (LIT) connects those with common challenges of new technologies, from circulation systems to controlling compact discs.
The ILF Management Division provides a forum for the networking and support of librarians working in management positions.
The ILF Marketing/Community Outreach Division encourages and stimulates the understanding and application of strategies that promote the effective and creative use of library resources. Discussion and training examines how to determine what our customers want and provide services that meet those needs.
The ILF Reference Division (REF) promotes efficient information services through continuing education programs and engenders cooperation among reference personnel.
Small and Medium Size Libraries
The ILF Small and Medium Size Libraries Division (SAMS) seeks to help small libraries provide better service to their communities by providing a network for the discussion of common problems and their solutions. The division also helps small and medium size libraries keep abreast of current information and ideas in library management.
Special Librarians Division
The purpose of this division shall be to promote understanding and a sense of unity among librarians working in special libraries or independently in Indiana and to provide a forum for them to share information and expertise.
The ILF Technical Services Division (TS) presents programs and provides an opportunity for the exchange of information on technical service issues.
Young Professionals Division
The ILF Young Professionals Division (YPD) works to develop, empower, and connect individuals who are considered young professionals; to build relationships with individuals who are experiencing the same issues, concerns, and opportunities.; and to be a source of encouragement and communication and create opportunities for leadership.
