Share |

As a part of our ILF Work Plan 2016 (described at bottom), we are working to keep our members and leaders informed and engaged in the strategic direction for the Indiana Library Federation. The Strategic Visioning session will be held Feb. 3, 2017, with multiple opportunities for member and stakeholder input in the winter and spring. See Envisioning the Future of Indiana's Libraries: progress to date. ILF units are asked to submit 1-3 names of potential attendees for the 2/3 session. View 12/14 recording for an update.

We are providing regular updates through email, conference calls and short recorded messages. Here are a sample:

On 8/11/16, the ILF Board of Directors approved the ILF Work Plan 2016, which lays the foundation for our strategic visioning in 2017. We have made significant progress in five areas of work below. See our Progress Report which shows accomplishments as of December 2016.

  1. Improve office infrastructure and processes;
  2. Plan for changes to ILF’s legal organizing documents and governance;
  3. Engage members and initiate strategic planning;
  4. Initiate a comprehensive training, meeting, conferencing and professional development plan; and
  5. Improve internal and external communications, transparency and accountability.

The board and I welcome your comments or suggestions the future of Indiana's libraries and of ILF. Please do not hesitate to reach out directly to board members or to me.

 Lucinda Nord, ILF Executive Director
