This session was held at 10amET/9amCT.

Join this session to learn about HEA1343, which becomes effective July 1. We will discuss what the law means, how to interpret and implement in your community. ILF has been in dialogue with ISL and DLGF about guidance, which we anticipate will be issued in advance of this session. See ISL Memo, issued 6/28/19.

ILF Advocacy Committee Co-Chairs Kelly Ehinger and Kristi Howe provide an overview of HEA1343. See slides, recording of presentation and Q&A.

There is no cost for ILF members to attend this or other virtual exchanges. (See also July 15 - Communicating your Public Library Budget; others coming soon)

What is a virtual exchange? ILF offers Virtual Exchanges, where members engage in dialogue with experts and with each other from the comfort of your home or work computer.  Most sessions will start with a more formal slide presentation of content where we ask you to hold your questions or provide them in the chat box. Then we move to the interactive exchange where we ask participants to turn on their cameras for collegial Q&A and exchange.

Technical requirements - Registrants are emailed a link to open on a computer or cell phone with data plan OR a telephone number with login id to call. If your internet speed is slow, you might watch online and call in for best sound quality.

Virtual Exchange Etiquette - We ask you to mute yourself while not speaking. If calling in on a telephone, please do not place us on hold.

Participation - Virtual exchanges are intended to engage more of our members in dialogue with each other without having to drive to a face-to-face meeting.
