Volunteers are the heart of the Indiana Library Federation. Library supporters--including staff, students, and advocates--may volunteer with conferences and events. ILF Members may volunteer to participate in a leadership role, including on a workgroup, Division Leadership Team, Affiliation Advisory Board, Committee, or the ILF Board of Directors.

Want to volunteer?  Complete this volunteer form. What happens next?

  • A member of the ILF staff will contact you to set up a telephone or online meeting to discuss your interests, skills and availability to match you with the best opportunity.
  • Appointments are usually made in two-year terms (or shorter to fill vacancies) and are confirmed at one of the bi-monthly ILF Board meetings.
  • Short-term volunteer opportunities are available to assist at conferences, with special projects and in the office.
  • Committees and leadership teams sometimes have waiting lists (i.e. Book Awards). We work to find a place for you to become involved during the waiting period.
  • We aim to support you in your personal and professional growth as a leader.

Thank you to all our volunteers and member leaders!

See list of 2019 volunteers! We apologize in advance if we have missed anyone.
