2023 Management Cohort - Directors Only Series

Follow in the footsteps of other great managers you’ve encountered and join the Management Cohort Series. Up to 20 library professionals are selected annually for this exclusive management skills training opportunity focused on practical skill development. Our sessions are led by Beka Lemons, Executive Director of the Huntington-City Township Public Library. Join colleagues from across the state for this excellent professional development opportunity and become the boss you would like to have. 

Applications for the 2023 Cohort have closed! 

This cohort series is for Director level professionals only. 

The 2023 Management Cohort Series consists of eight interactive Zoom sessions from September 8 - December 15, 2023. The sessions will take place every other Friday starting September 8 and ending December 15. All sessions are from 9:00AM - 12:00PM. Participants must commit to attending at least six of the sessions. 

The sessions will cover these topics:

  • Session 1 - Welcome/Introductions, Facilitation Skills, Leadership and Management Styles
  • Session 2 - Communications, Emotional Intelligence
  • Session 3 - HR for Managers, Performance Evaluations, Diversity and Ethics
  • Session 4 - Conflict Resolution
  • Session 5 - Team Building, Collaboration and Partnerships
  • Session 6 - Change Management, Project Management
  • Session 7 - Problem Solving, Evidence-Based Decision Making
  • Session 8 - Forward Thinking, Budget Creation and Presentation, Marketing and Advocacy

Details:

  • $175 to participate.
  • The application went live July 10.
  • The deadline for applications was August 20

LEUs:

Earn up to three LEUs per session. You must actually attend the session to earn the LEUs. If you attend every session you can earn 24 LEUs.
