Category: Workshop
Management Training CohortThe Indiana Library Federation is launching a Management Training Cohort program to introduce library managers to best practices and to develop management skills. Management topics will be presented by experts in the library field and will be explored amidst peers. The cohort model helps to support every participant by forming a continuing network of peers with a common goal. This program will help library managers hone management skills for better performance on the job, with the added potential of moving up the management ladder. In this eight-week online program, participants will learn critical management principles such as emotional intelligence, team building, conflict resolution, change and project management, and forward thinking. This cohort will focus on public library topics, however anyone interested in growing their management skills may apply. Sessions are scheduled every two weeks, from 9 a.m. - noon, beginning Friday, September 9th, and ending Friday, December 16th. Participants must be able to commit to attend at least six of the eight sessions. Anyone who is interested may apply by clicking here. Applications must be received no later than August 19th. Applications will be reviewed, and participants will be selected by members of the ILF Management Division. The cohort will be limited to 20 participants. Participation in this cohort is limited to current and aspiring library managers. At this time, Library Directors will not be included in the cohort. The registration fee for the Management Training Cohort is $175. Participants must be personal members of ILF.
