How to Be a Leader in Any Role

  • Session Description: Devery North, a self-proclaimed data nerd and avid audiobook listener, is the School Age and Families Program Specialist at the Indianapolis Public Library. After traveling over 15,000 miles around the intermountain west serving as touring company manager for the Utah Shakespeare Festival, she went on to earn a Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration in Arts Administration from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. Switching gears from arts education to library programming has been an exciting journey and gives her the opportunity to showcase her first library card from Johnson County, Ks. at her desk.

  • Session Description: This session introduces practical, beginner-friendly steps for building effective teen outreach. Learn how to connect with schools, youth organizations, and community partners to promote library services and create meaningful programs for teens. Well cover how to initiate partnerships, identify community needs, and design outreach that meets teens where they are. Attendees will leave with simple strategies and ready-to-use ideas to jump-start or strengthen their teen outreach efforts.

  • Session Description: Plymouth Public Library is a library that welcomes all people and this session will be an extension of the library's philosophy. This session supports ILF's DEIJA by providing content and an environment that is inclusive and welcoming and will share practical ideas to extend outreach to our communities with a strong focus on today's youth.
