(Re)engaging Communities Through Literary Events| Veterans 2

Throughout the past year, the Zondervan Library has invited the community to return to and engage our spaces through book talks, launches, and other literary-focused events. Attendees will learn about our process of going from no events to multiple events per month throughout the past year. Small scale strategies for 20-person events such as author talks as well as for large-scale book launches and journal releases will be discussed. Procedures related to planning and promoting these events and strategies for initiating collaboration with various stakeholders will be shared. The presenters will also discuss several lessons learned along the way and ideas for how to expand and enhance this initiative in the future.

The Hoosier-Buckeye Shared Digital Collection Consortium is an excellent way to provide e-resources for your students--even in the smallest schools. Leslie Sutherlin shares her experience in helping to create this Mackin collection and how she has used and promoted with students.

At the PCPL we work to create an atmosphere of togetherness. In March I announce the theme for the year. What everyone will be working on. The 2022 theme is "Giving Grace at the PCPL" This presentation will discuss how the themes started, highlight a few from the past years and discuss the current theme of Grace in the workplace.

Digital Indy: The Good, The Bad, and The Searching | Salons 1-3

With so many resources online, there are two big challenges. Knowing that they exist and learning how to best search them. This session highlights Digital Indy (digitalindy.org), the Indianapolis Public Library’s space for digital collections showcasing the communities and histories of Indianapolis and Marion County. After a journey through the most popular collections, including discussion about what topics and patron questions Digital Indy can answer, attendees will learn tips and tricks to searching the site, most of which will help you get the most out of any ContentDM site. So whether you love local history, digital collections, or search boxes, this session has something for you!

The Advocacy Committee will share the 2023 legislative strategy to help unite libraries throughout the state for the upcoming long session that will include the state's biennial budget and other topics such as the Freedom to Read.
