2026 Board Trustee and Administrator In-Person Trainings

The Indiana Library Federation (ILF) is proud to offer in-person trainings for library board trustees and school administrators. These offerings are generously provided through a $150,000 grant from the Herbert Simon Family Foundation

Group registration will go live on Monday, June 1.

We will be offering 4 training experiences over the next two years. These trainings are designed to provide high-impact curriculum and training around advocacy in the state of Indiana. The curriculum and training will be delivered by the talented team at Hedges and our Advocacy Committee.

Curriculum/Training Topics

The training provides library leaders and board trustees with a comprehensive overview of core board governance responsibilities. Participants will learn about:

  • Legal and financial oversight
  • Supporting and evaluating the library director
  • Maintaining effective staff and board trustee roles

  • Building and sustaining an effective board of trustee
  • Advancing the library’s public value through local community advocacy
